Nursery Crimes:
Our strawberry basil mead. It starts with the aroma of basil. The first sip is the season's first strawberry sweetness. It finishes with a basil flavor. You will feel we have stolen some of the best parts of a summer garden.
ABV: 12.0 %
Recommendations:
Pair with pasta, vegetable dishes and with a delicate cheese with fruity and bitter qualities that complement Nursery Crimes. Cheeses to Consider: Morbier, Ashbrook, Reading
Drink recipes:
Berry Bellini (from House Bear Brewing):
- 2 parts Nursery Crimes mead
- 1 part Prosecco
- Frozen blueberries for edible ice cubes
Mix (don't shake) mead and Prosecco. Pour into martini glass over frozen blueberries. Serve.
Carmen Miranda (from Harmony at Booze Epoque)
- 2 oz Nursery Crimes mead
- 1 oz cachaca
- 2 oz cut strawberry
- 1 lime quartered
- 2 heaping tsp sugar
Muddle in glass. Add ice, stir and serve.
Stormy Nursery Crimes (c/o Erica Yeoman):
- Nursery Crimes
- fresh lime juice
- gingerbeer
Mix all ingredients together and garnish with lime wheel, basil skewer
Strawberry Smash
- 2 oz Nursery Crimes
- 1 oz gin
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- Club soda
- 1 lime wedge
- 3 strawberries hulled & sliced and basil for garnish
Muddle sugar & lime. Add 2 strawberries & lightly muddle. Fill glass with ice, mead & gin. Top with club soda. Garnish with last strawberry & sprig of basil.
